Dave Lienert wins Gold

Dave Lienert won gold in his single in his age category (65-70) at the Ontario Masters Rowing championships, held in Welland this past weekend. Prior to taking on athletes his own age, he raced in the younger age category and won gold. Dave rowed as a young person in St. Catharines. An architect by profession and an excellent local golfer, he spends his time after work on the golf course or on the river in his single. Head Coach Carol Love says he is a great role model for the young rowers. " It is wonderful to see that rowing can be a life long passion. Dave is very fit and a great technician. Over short sprints in training he will take on all the young scullers in the club"
