Welcome
Rowing is a beautiful sport; nothing compares to being on the water – a
great source of exercise - while watching a classic Ontario sunset!
Scenes along our 6km course include Trent University, pristine nature
trails, and Canada's highest lift lock. With well-established recreational
and competitive rowing programs, current equipment and new docks (not
to forget a great community!) the PRC is the perfect place to develop
a new love with one of the most popular summer activities in North
America. Don't miss the boat! The Peterborough Rowing Club is a not-for-profit organization, and has been in operation since 1977.
The Peterborough Rowing Club is a proud recipient of a $54,200 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant received in 2008. The Club used these funds to make a number of improvements to its facilities, enabling greater community access to our rapidly growing recreational rowing programs. Recipient of City of Peterborough Project Grant in 2007 and 2010. In 2007, the club purchased a boat seat to accommodate for Adaptive Rowing. In 2010, improvements to the Recreational Rowing program will be made to provide coaching opportunities during the summer months
Our objective: To build the club's capacity to deliver programs at the entry level due to the community's surge of interest. To provide the opportunity for our club coaches to upgrade their skills and certification from the old NCCP into the new coaching certification. |
